Troop Historian
The historian collects, assembles, preserves, and is responsible for troop photographs, news stories, trophies, flags, scrapbooks, awards, and other memorabilia, and makes materials available for Scouting activities, courts of honor, the media, and troop history projects.
Responsibilities
Section titled “Responsibilities”- gather photos and facts about troop activities and keep them in a historical file or scrapbook
- take care of troop trophies, ribbons, and souvenirs of troop activities
- maintain and update the displays in the troop’s trophy cabinets
- keep information about former members of the troop
- set a good example
- wear the Scout uniform correctly
- live by the Scout Oath and Law
- show Scout spirit
Reports To

Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- Be appointed by the Senior Patrol Leader, with approval of the Scoutmaster
Taking Photos of Troop Events
Section titled “Taking Photos of Troop Events”One of the main responsibilities of a Historian is to document the troop’s activities by taking photos. On each campout or other outing, take photos of the event. Then, you can upload them to the troop website:
