Making Troop 1607 Woggles

The woggles are made of craft lace, also known as gimp, scoubidou, or Rexlace. Each woggle uses two colors of lace. Each woggle should have a unique color combination (there should be no woggles made with the same pair of colors).

Prerequisite Skills

You will need to learn how to do these first:

Circle Stitch

Four Strand Round Braid

Turk’s Head Knot

Assembling the Woggle

1. Cut your strands of lace

   You need four strands of lace- two of each color.
   Ends - 1 ft each
   Braid - 8 feet
   Total - 10 feet

2. Set up the lace for braiding

   Tie an overhand knot in the laces, such that one set of ends is 9 feet from end to the knot.

3. Braid the lace

4. Tie the first end

5. Return to the other end and untie the overhand knot

6. Tie the second circle stitch

7. Tie the turk’s head knot
